One of the police officers escorting Prime Minister Orbán and his delegation back to Stuttgart International Airport died in a traffic accident caused by a 69-year-old local woman. Here is the Prime Minister’s reaction.

Accordingly ViewAs the Hungarian tabloid newspaper reported, “The brutal accident occurred yesterday at 11.15 a.m. in the Stuttgart district of Degerloch.” Prime Minister Orbán watched the Scotland-Hungary match at EURO 2024 live (HERE is our report) and flew back to Hungary the next day.

However, a fatal road accident occurred on the way to the airport. A 69-year-old woman ignored the road closure set up because of the convoy and ran over a policeman, who then threw his motorcycle onto the motorcycle of another 27-year-old policeman. The younger policeman suffered serious injuries, but his older colleague died after being taken to a local hospital.

Bertalan Havasi, Orbán’s press chief, said the Hungarian prime minister had sent a letter of condolence to the German chancellor and the Stuttgart police chief, expressing his shock and sympathy.

Here are some photos of the tragic accident shared by a local media outlet:
