Heat warnings apply to West Middle Tennessee and Southwest Kentucky, where heat index values ​​will exceed 100 degrees. Be sure to stay hydrated, watch out for others, and take breaks in the shade/with air conditioning.

today is a First weather warning day Expect extreme heat. It will be very hot and humid this afternoon. Otherwise, mostly sunny weather is expected, with the possibility of thunderstorms this evening, mainly north of Nashville.

Tomorrow is also First weather warning day for the possibility of strong storms. Temperatures will only rise to the high 30s to low 35s, but a cold front will bring isolated storms in the afternoon and evening. Damaging winds and torrential rain are the main dangers. The highest probability is for Nashville and the Northwest.

THURSDAY

Thursday looks to be the most pleasant of the next seven days. Humidity will drop slightly. Temperatures will actually be in the seasonable range at around 90 degrees with a mix of sun and clouds.

FRIDAY TO THIS WEEKEND:

Friday, Saturday and Sunday are Weather days of the first warning. It will be very hot again on Friday and throughout the weekend. Temperatures will reach as high as 95 degrees Fahrenheit in Nashville. The heat index will be above 100 degrees for many. Remember to stay alert in the dangerous heat and high humidity. Continue to take all the heat precautions you have taken up to this point to protect yourself and your family members.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely again on Sunday afternoon and evening as a weak cold front approaches from the north. The main danger will again be damaging winds.
