Shooting today in West Elsdon, Chicago: Police report firearms used near McDonald’s: Dead person, injured 2 youths at the corner of 53rd and Pulaski

CHICAGO (WLS) — According to Chicago police, one person was killed and two teenagers were injured in a shooting near a McDonald’s in the southwest of the city on Monday afternoon.

Police said the shooting occurred shortly before 4 p.m. in the West Elsdon neighborhood near West 53rd Street and South Pulaski Road.

Officers responded to a 911 call about a shooting and found two boys, ages 15 and 16, who had been shot.

Police said the 16-year-old, who was shot in the buttocks and abdomen, was taken to Christ Hospital in critical condition. The 15-year-old, who was shot multiple times in the legs, was taken to Stroger Hospital in fair condition.

Another male victim, whose age was not immediately known, took himself to Holy Cross Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

No one is in custody and Area One detectives are investigating.
