Emergency crews searched for Warren on Friday and Saturday.

Investigators reviewed video footage and went door to door to ask residents if they had seen him and whether they should check their security cameras for possible footage of them.

Investigators watched hours of video from vehicles in the area immediately before, during and after Warren’s truck was spotted on the flock camera.

They tracked down several vehicles and spoke to the owners.

On Saturday evening, investigators spoke with Robert Earnest Peppers, 62, and Kelly Gail Osborn, 56, at their home.

During questioning, Peppers admitted that he drove Warren’s truck and parked it behind Dollar General.

Osborn admitted that she followed Peppers and picked him up after he parked the truck.

The two were taken to the sheriff’s office for questioning and officers executed a search warrant on their home.

During their interview, Peppers said he found Warren’s truck empty in a ditch and drove away.

Peppers told investigators where he found the truck and investigators searched the area.

Officers executed a second search warrant on her home and seized items now known to have come from Warren’s truck.

“Both Peppers and Osborn are currently in custody at the Spalding County Jail and will continue to be questioned about their roles and their association with Mr. Warren. They have been tentatively charged with receiving stolen property,” said Sheriff Darrell Dix. “We are actively working this case, continuing to collect evidence, follow up on leads, communicate with Sheriff Dean and his office, and conduct interviews. My investigators are working with Sheriff Dean and his investigators. Everyone has been working almost non-stop since the Flock Alert. My uniformed patrol officers are even out on foot day and night to assist detectives. Our goal is to find Mr. Warren.”

LATEST STORIES:

Sheriff Dix is asking the public not to help in the search for him.

“Having people tramping through these areas on foot, with ATVs, dogs and horses, searching the areas on their own is not going to help. It can actually hinder our investigation and collection of relevant evidence. If we need outside help, we have no problem reaching out to citizens and asking for help, just like we did when the tornadoes came through Spalding County. The people of Spalding County have no problem pitching in, getting involved, working hard and helping when asked. From now on, please stand back and let us do our work without being disturbed or having to worry about contamination,” Dix said.

If you have any information, video footage or tips, please call Lt. Jeff Smith or Sgt. AJ Hammond at the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office at 770-467-4282, the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office at 478-272-1522 or the Spalding County Emergency Operations Center at 770-229-9911.
