19:06: The barriers are still closed. We have been watching the live feed from the cameras and have seen some westbound drivers turn around and head back east. Some westbound vehicles are still waiting. We are trying to reach SDOT and see if they have an ETA for the repairs.

19:41: SDOT spokesperson Ethan Bergerson WSB says: “The bridge is currently stuck as a technical issue with the locking mechanism at the stern is preventing us from opening or closing the bridge. A maintenance team is currently en route to diagnose and fix the issue in accordance with our standard response procedures.”
