Bhopal: A 21-year-old girl was allegedly raped on the pretext of marriage in a hotel in Ashoka Garden. When the accused refused to marry her, the girl narrated her ordeal to her family members, who reported the incident to the police on Sunday. Ashoka Garden police said a case has been registered. Police said the survivor works in a beauty parlour. In her complaint, she stated that she came in touch with the accused, a resident of Aishbagh, through Instagram in 2023. The accused lured her into his friendship trap and started chatting with her. Later, he called her for a meeting in October 2023 at a hotel in Ashoka Garden, where he allegedly raped her in a room. When she protested, the accused promised to marry her. He repeatedly raped her on the promise of marriage. Two days ago, he called her at the hotel and raped her. When she asked him to marry her, he refused. The girl’s family members came to the spot and found her with him. The girl then went to the police to file a complaint.
