Suspect in custody after man found dead in DeRidder area, sheriff says

BEAUREGARD PARISH, Louisiana (KPLC) – A suspect is in custody in connection with a man found dead in the DeRidder area, authorities said.

A 72-year-old man was found dead shortly after 8 a.m. today, said Beauregard Parish Sheriff Mark Herford. Investigators found evidence of murder.

The suspect has neither been officially arrested nor charged, Sheriff Herford said.
