2 dead after head-on collision in Taylor Mill on Sunday afternoon

Two people are dead after a head-on collision Sunday afternoon in Taylor Mill, Taylor Mill police said. Officials say emergency crews were dispatched to a crash at Pride Parkway and Old Taylor Mill Road around 12:25 p.m. Sunday. Officials say the crash involved two vehicles, a silver Hyundai sedan and a black BMW X5 SUV. Authorities say two occupants of the Hyundai were unresponsive at the scene of the crash, while all occupants of the BMW were awake and alert. Police say the Hyundai was found to be traveling southbound on Pride Parkway when it crossed the median, entered the northbound lane and struck the BMW. Officials say the driver of the Hyundai, 36-year-old Joey Stiltner, and his passenger, 37-year-old Kellie Hutchinson, both of Independence, were pronounced dead at the scene. Police say the driver and passenger of the BMW were taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood, where they were treated and released. Kenton County Police reported the accident as a serious accident. The Traffic Accident Reconstruction Unit (STAR) continues to investigate the accident to determine what caused Stiltner to cross the center line and enter oncoming traffic.
