Man arrested for car theft and attempted burglary in Fairland area

Police said a man was arrested for car theft and attempted burglary that occurred in the Fairland area this month.

Samuel Robert Bajard, 30, of unknown address, was arrested last week on Thursday, June 20, according to the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD). He is being held without bail.

According to police, officers responded to an attempted burglary in the 14100 block of Castle Boulevard at approximately 4:24 a.m. on Sunday, June 9. Police said Bajard and other unknown suspects attempted to force entry into a residence by kicking in the door and throwing a rock through a window.

The apartment resident confronted the suspects and sprayed them with bear spray, police said. The suspects then left. As they left the apartment complex, the suspects attacked a driver in a Toyota Camry who had just returned home, police said. The suspects fled in the stolen Toyota.

According to police, investigators identified Bajard as one of the suspects during the investigation. Earlier this month, investigators obtained a warrant for his arrest on charges of attempted burglary and car theft.
