Motorcyclist dies after collision with RV near Oakhurst | YourCentralValley.com

OAKHURST, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A motorcyclist died in a crash involving a recreational vehicle on Highway 49 outside Oakhurst, the California Highway Patrol said.

Officers said they received a call about a two-vehicle crash on Highway 49, south of Hilltop Lane, around 3:53 p.m. Saturday.


According to CHP, a driver of a Ford Class C motorhome was traveling 25 mph on Highway 49 and the driver of a motorcycle was traveling southbound on Highway 49 at a high rate of speed and approached the motorhome. As the motorcyclist made a sharp turn, he crossed into the oncoming lane directly into the path of the motorhome.

According to the CHP, the motorcyclist collided head-on with the Ford on the northbound lane. The motorcyclist’s driver suffered fatal injuries in the collision.

According to the CHP, there is no suspicion that alcohol and/or drugs played a role in the accident.

The identity of the motorcyclist was not disclosed by officials. The investigation is still ongoing.
