Dead & Company is currently in the middle of their Dead Forever residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas, and although they only have performances confirmed through August 10th, it sounds like there could be more in the future.

During an interview with diversityDead & Company’s Bob Weir sounded like he was looking forward to what they could do with the Sphere’s screens as technology improves.

When asked what can be improved in terms of visuals and music, he replies: “The technology is not yet fully developed to play the visuals (in a huge room) completely in sync with the music.”

“They’re generally a little late to the game and stuff. But there’s audio technology that can keep up with music,” he says. “And I think we’re going to try to adapt some of that audio technology to visual technology.”

Weir also says that all visuals now have to be loaded before the show, something he would like to change.

“I would like to see the agreement become more relaxed and interactive – and I think that will be the case if we try again,” he notes.

When asked if all these conversations suggest they might want to return to the sphere as soon as next year, he replied: “Potentially. I wouldn’t be surprised if we were invited back and I would definitely make room for it.”

Dead & Company’s next Sphere show is July 4. For a full list of dates, visit deadandcompany.com.
