Bristol man arrested after road rage incident in Old Saybrook

OLD SAYBROOK, Connecticut — A Bristol man was arrested in Old Saybrook in a road rage incident that occurred while he had children in his car, police said.

Dejon Robinson, 30, of Bristol, was charged with endangering minors (3 counts), second-degree disturbing the peace (4 counts), first-degree menacing with a firearm (4 counts), and first-degree reckless endangerment (4 counts).

Police said Thursday at 6:20 p.m. that officers were called to a road rage incident on southbound I-95 in Old Saybrook where the suspect allegedly displayed a weapon. Victims reported repeated braking and abrupt lane changes by the suspect’s vehicle. The driver reported that the suspect’s vehicle then pulled up to their left, after which they saw the driver point a weapon at them through the open passenger window.

The victim was able to report identifying information about the suspect, including the vehicle description, license plate number, and a description of the weapon he was carrying.

The suspect exited Interstate 95 and entered Rt. 9, where State Police located the defendant’s vehicle. Robinson was positively identified as the suspect through statements from the victim.

A gun matching the description of the victims was also found in Robinson’s vehicle. The gun was registered to Robinson. Robinson had passengers in his own vehicle, including children.

Robinson was released on $10,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in Middletown Superior Court on July 2.
