NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) — An update on a story we’ve been following since 2023: A Holyoke woman was dragged from her car by police after being stopped for a broken headlight.

The city of Northampton is now filing a motion to dismiss the lawsuit.

Marisol Driouech, 61, had filed a lawsuit in federal court claiming that Northampton police officers violated her civil rights when they dragged her out of her car during a traffic stop.

The lawsuit also outlined what Driouech believes is a pattern of Northampton police officers disproportionately stopping and using force against Hispanics.

A new court date for the case has not yet been scheduled.
