Man arrested in connection with Cornell Avenue murder

Roanoke police report a man has been arrested in connection with the June 13 murder on Cornell Avenue. (WFXR)

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Roanoke Police report a man has been arrested in connection with the June 13 Cornell Avenue homicide.

On June 13, at approximately 7:20 p.m., officers were notified of a car crash in the 2400 block of Cornell Avenue. At the scene, Roanoke Fire-EMS personnel found an occupant, identified as 21-year-old Dontae R. Muse of Roanoke, suffering from a gunshot wound. Muse was pronounced dead at the scene.


The RPD, in conjunction with the U.S. Marshal’s Office, arrested Kyriq Rasheed Seabrooks in connection with the murder investigation. He has since been transported to the Roanoke City Detention Center and is being held without bail.
