Larry Neuman, retired Chicago police officer, killed in front of his home

A “person of interest” has been taken into custody in connection with the death of a retired Chicago police officer.

Larry Neuman, an explosives technician, was shot and killed outside his West Garfield Park residence around 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Chicago police and NBC Chicago said.

The Chicago ATF, the Chicago FBI and the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation are each offering $25,000 for information leading to an arrest or conviction in this case.

A Chicago police spokesman told USA TODAY on Monday that “a suspect is in custody and the investigation is ongoing.”
