One person died after nighttime motorcycle accident in the northern valley

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — One person was killed in a motorcycle accident overnight in north Las Vegas.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, a motorcycle accident occurred sometime between 1 and 4 a.m. on West Centennial Parkway at the corner of North Torrey Pines Drive.

According to police, a 2005 Harley-Davidson Road King was traveling east on Centennial and failed to negotiate a curve.

The rider put the motorcycle on the ground and slid into the curb of Torrey Pines, both of them hitting a reflective warning sign.

The motorcycle then caught fire and the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

A passerby reported the accident, but police said no witnesses to the accident had been identified.

The motorcyclist’s death was the 79th traffic-related fatality in the LVMPD’s jurisdiction in 2024.
