1 dead in two-vehicle crash on Shaw Avenue in Fresno County

FRESNO COUNTY, CA (June 24, 2024) – A woman died in a two-car crash at Shaw Avenue and Indianola Avenue.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle crash occurred around 7:15 p.m. Thursday. For an unknown reason, a woman failed to slow down behind a driver turning left on Shaw Avenue. The car then struck the vehicle in front of her as it attempted to turn left onto Indianola Avenue.

Emergency services arrived at the scene shortly after and confirmed that the driver of the crashed vehicle, a woman in her 80s, had succumbed to her injuries. The woman in her 40s in the other car stated that she had not suffered serious injuries.

After the accident, CHP investigators did not believe impairment was the cause. However, they will continue to investigate this accident.
