Another alleged rape victim of former Spandau Ballet singer Ross Davidson claimed that he “tried to get me high so I would fall asleep quickly”.

The woman said in a video shown in court that Davidson, 36, wanted sex up to six times a night and once continued to have sex with her even though she said no. She also told jurors that he filmed her having sex with him without her consent and that he often tried to blow marijuana smoke into her mouth when he kissed her – as he smoked “five or six joints a day.”

The jury heard that Davidson saw himself as “a bit of a sex symbol” after starring in the West End musical We Will Rock You about a decade ago. He became the lead singer of 80s band Spandau Ballet in 2018 and was best known to his fans by his stage name Ross Wild.

He is on trial for a string of sex offences against five women, three of whom claimed they were raped. Davidson, from Finchley, north London, denies three counts of rape, three counts of sexual assault, one count of voyeurism, one count of intimidation and one count of controlling behaviour.

The court heard that Davison allegedly filmed himself fondling sleeping women and role-playing rape and bondage scenarios. He also had a fantasy in which he enjoyed sex with human “mannequins”. Another victim defined this as a woman pretending to be a “quiet and lifeless, unresponsive person – as if she were a mannequin”. The offences are said to have taken place over a ten-year period between 2013 and 2023.

In a video played to Wood Green Crown Court today, one of the alleged victims said: “We were having sex five to six times a night, which was just not OK for me. At one point I was in a lot of pain and said I didn’t want to have sex with him but he said, ‘No, come on, come on, let’s have sex.’ He laid me on my back, put his penis in me and started having sex with me. He tried to laugh and make it funny. I said, ‘No, really, I don’t want to.’ I thought he was going to stop but then he turned me over so I was doggy style and he carried on having sex with me. I couldn’t say no anymore. I hardly slept, I felt so scared and alone all the time.” She continued. “I used to just lie in bed and cry.”

The woman testified in court that Davidson also smoked up to six cannabis joints a day. She said: “He spent the whole relationship smoking, let’s say, five to six joints a day – marijuana. He would kiss me quite a lot and have the smoke in his mouth and try to blow it into my mouth. He was trying to get me high and of course I fell asleep quite quickly.”

She claimed Davidson also filmed her performing oral sex without her consent while telling her he was “just texting,” saying: “I thought it was a bit weird to be texting while doing that. I hadn’t consented to a video being made of me performing oral sex on him, I hadn’t said that was OK.”

Davidson, from Finchley, north London, denies three counts of rape, three counts of sexual assault, one count of voyeurism, one count of intimidation and one count of controlling behaviour. The trial continues.
