Man arrested for sexually abusing his minor daughter in Siliguri – Siliguri Times

Siliguri, June 24: A disturbing incident has come to light: A man was arrested for allegedly sexually abusing his minor daughter after his wife filed a complaint in Ward No. 41 of Bhakti Nagar police station of Siliguri Metropolitan Police.

The woman reportedly claimed that her husband had been mentally and physically abusing her for a long period of time. In March, she decided to leave her husband’s house and moved to her parents’ house with her children.

During this time, her 14-year-old daughter revealed her father’s sexually abusive behavior. Based on this revelation, the woman filed a written complaint against her husband. The Bhakti Nagar police quickly arrested the accused on Sunday evening after a preliminary investigation.

On Monday, the accused was booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and produced before the Jalpaiguri court. The Bhakti Nagar police station is continuing to investigate the case in detail.
