UPDATE: Man arrested in connection with shooting at football event that leaves man dead and child injured – Southern Maryland News Net

29-year-old Dajuon Meniefield from Bowie

UPDATE 23.06.2024: The Prince George’s County Police Department Homicide Unit has identified and charged a suspect in connection with a recent murder at a football event in Oxon Hill.

The suspect is 29-year-old Dajuon Meniefield of Bowie. He is accused of shooting 33-year-old Christopher Mozee of District Heights.

On June 15, 2024, at approximately 11:20 a.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting at Potomac High School on Boydell Avenue.

The victim was found in the stands suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead a short time later at the hospital. A second victim, a child, suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

With the assistance of the Hagerstown Police Department, detectives from the PGPD Fugitive Unit located Meniefield and took him into custody. He is charged with first and second degree murder and related charges.

Mozee and Meniefield knew each other. The motive for the shooting appears to have been an argument.

18.06.2024: The Prince George’s County Police Department Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Saturday at a football event in Oxon Hill. The victim is 33-year-old Christopher Mozee of District Heights. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

On June 15, 2024, at approximately 11:20 a.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting at Potomac High School on Boydell Avenue. The victim was found in the stands suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead a short time later at the hospital. A second victim, a child, suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Investigators are currently actively working to arrest the suspect(s). It is currently believed that the shooting was the result of a dispute among spectators at the event.
