A suspected bank robber held several employees at a BMO bank in Anaheim captive before being arrested by police on Wednesday, March 8, officials said.

Police responded to the bank robbery at 4501 East La Palma Avenue at 4:40 p.m. The suspect allegedly kidnapped several bank employees, barricaded himself in a room at the bank and demanded money before stealing an undisclosed amount of cash, Anaheim police Sgt. Jon McClintock said.

SWAT personnel and tactical negotiators on scene rescued the victims and arrested the suspect on suspicion of bank robbery, kidnapping and false imprisonment, McClintock said. Details about the suspect and whether he was armed during the robbery were not released.

No injuries were reported.
