Subject of the Kan. Silver Alert found dead

ELLIS COUNTY – On Thursday at 7:47 p.m., Hays Police issued a Silver Alert for 66-year-old Randy S. Goodermuth.

Since the Silver Alert was issued, police in Ellis County have been searching for him.

On Sunday evening, Hays police officers, with the assistance of members of the Kansas Search and Rescue Dog Association, found Goodermuth’s body south of Hays, according to a Hays police news release. He was dead.

The Ellis County Coroner concluded that Goodermuth died of accidental drowning.

ELLIS COUNTY – The Hays Police Department has asked the Kansas Bureau of Investigation to issue a statewide Silver Alert for a missing Hays man, according to a KBI news release.

The whereabouts of 66-year-old Randy S. Goodermuth of Hays are unknown and the public is asked to help locate him.

Randy is a white male who is 5’8″ tall and weighs approximately 170 pounds. He has blue eyes and is bald. Randy was last seen wearing a red Kansas City Chiefs Travis Kelce jersey (number 87) and khaki pants.

Randy suffers from schizophrenia. The last time he was seen, he was hallucinating and ran away from home. He hasn’t returned yet.
