Forney police investigate shooting, suspect arrested | Crime

FORNEY, Texas — Forney police are investigating a shooting that occurred Sunday evening.

In an update Sunday evening, police announced that the alleged suspect had been arrested.

On Sunday, June 23, 2024, at approximately 8:00 p.m., Forney Police responded to reports of a shooting at the intersection of Vista Ridge Drive and Diamond Creek Boulevard.

According to police, no injuries were reported in the incident.

Forney police described the possible suspect as a black man between the ages of 18 and 19. He was dressed entirely in black and was believed to be armed with a handgun.

The Terrell Police Department canine unit and a Forney Police Department drone unit were immediately dispatched to assist in the search for the suspect.

According to police, the suspect fled the area on foot.

Residents are asked not to approach the person as he is believed to be armed.
