Man shot near State Capitol; police investigate

HARRISBURG, Pennsylvania (WHTM) – A man was shot and killed just blocks from the Pennsylvania State Capitol on Sunday afternoon.

Harrisburg police said they were called to the 200 block of State Street around 5:30 p.m. because shots had been fired.

There they found a man lying on the street with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A suspect was arrested at the scene and State Street was closed from 2nd to 3rd streets.

The Pennsylvania Capitol Police were on site.
