Arrests made after attack on teenager on Pflugerville ISD bus

Kelsie Trevino said her son, 13-year-old Caden Williams, suffered injuries when he was attacked by a group that included adults on June 18.

PFLUGERVILLE, Texas – Kelsie Trevino said her 13-year-old son is still shaken by the attack on a Pflugerville ISD school bus on June 18.

Two adults were arrested and charged, while two juveniles involved were also arrested, the school district said. The charges include injury to a child, engaging in organized crime and assault.

The district added that additional charges are pending.

Trevino said Caden Williams, who attends summer school, was supposed to be at his drop-off point when he got into an altercation with another student on the bus.

Trevino said the student then called family members, who then made their way to the bus stop and boarded the bus, where the attack occurred.

“It was very heartbreaking to pick up Caden in that condition,” Trevino said.

Trevino said Williams was taken to the emergency room and a report was taken about the incident.

“I just feel like there was enough time to prevent this,” Trevino said. “It’s enough time to keep Caden in the condition he is in today. If you look over his shoulder, you can see that he’s afraid to leave his home.”

Trevino is holding the district accountable and asking why the bus driver did not intervene and what safety measures are being taken to prevent such a situation in the future.

“What action will they take and what punishment will there be for this bus driver who not only ensured the safety of my student, but also other students?” Trevino said.

Trevino just wonders why things had to come to this and is considering taking the next steps to get justice for her son.

“(The student’s family) could have contacted Caden or asked him to call his parents or family to resolve the matter,” Trevino said.

A Pflugerville ISD spokesperson provided the following letter, which was sent to parents of students who were on the bus:
