According to police, a Philadelphia police officer was struck by a Polaris Slingshot driver in a hit-and-run; person in custody

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A Philadelphia officer assigned to the ATV unit was struck by a Polaris Slingshot rider in a hit-and-run crash in North Philadelphia Sunday night, police said.

According to police, the incident occurred shortly before 8 p.m. at the intersection of Germantown Avenue and Broad Street.

Police said the officer was taken to Temple University Hospital where he is expected to be treated and released. The dirt bike the officer was riding sustained minor damage.

Police said one person had been arrested but did not say whether charges would be filed.

At the beginning of this year, in April, Police said another ATV unit officer was hit by an ATV rider on I-95 in South Philly.
