80-year-old woman killed in mobile home fire in Alexander County

ALEXANDER COUNTY, NC (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — An 80-year-old woman died in a mobile home fire in Alexander County on Sunday, officials said.

Multiple fire departments responded to a home on Frank Smith Mobile Home Park Drive in Taylorsville.

Authorities confirm that there are no other injuries. The Red Cross is assisting family members who were also in the house.

It was determined that the fire was accidentally caused by an extension cord under an aluminum door.

Alexander EMS, Sheriff’s Office, Fire Marshal’s Office and North Carolina State Fire Marshal’s Office assisted in the investigation.
