Milwaukee police release body camera video from a March shooting

Milwaukee police released edited body camera video Wednesday of a shooting involving a man who police say was armed. Officers said they initially responded to a March 24 call of shots fired at a building near 64th Street and Custer Avenue. They said they then found a 20-year-old man in an alley near 64th Street and Sheridan Avenue. Police said the video shows the man shooting at officers before they fired back. The man eventually fell to the ground and surrendered. The police took him to a hospital with injuries. Police said three officers fired their weapons. No officers were hit. Bullets from that shooting hit glass at a gas station nearly a block away. Video from inside the Citgo gas station at 64th Street and Silver Spring Drive shows people running for cover. No one was injured at the station.

They said they then chased a 20-year-old man into an alley near 64th Street and Sheridan Avenue.

Police said the video shows the man shooting at the officers before they fired back.

The man eventually fell to the ground and surrendered. The police took him injured to a hospital.

Police said three officers fired their weapons.

No officers were hit.

Bullets from that shooting hit glass at a gas station nearly a block away.
