Man arrested for serial burglary in Jacksonville Beach

Jacksonville Beach Police believe there are additional incidents that have not been reported.

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. – A man is facing charges in connection with a series of burglaries in Jacksonville Beach, police said in a news release Sunday.

At approximately 6:30 a.m., Jacksonville Beach Police officers were notified of a “suspicious person” in the backyard of a residence in the 1000 block of 2nd Street North.

Officers observed a suspect, identified as 44-year-old Brandon Boyd, leaving the property.

While officers were investigating, three more incidents were reported to police, the press release said.

Police said Boyd was captured on video surveillance in the area. While investigating several incidents, police believed Boyd entered the apartments through unlocked doors and was confronted by the owners, the release said.

After the altercations, Boyd left the apartments. Police said that during one of the incidents, Boyd likely left behind a stolen electronic tablet.

Boyd was arrested for burglary/assault, loitering and exposure of genitals, according to police.
