Turks and Caicos Islands: Two men die in separate shootings

Two men were shot dead in separate shootings on the Turks and Caicos Islands on Saturday.

In the most recent incident, 40-year-old Dieuseil Eugene died after being shot in Blue Hills, Providenciales.

According to reports, around 9 p.m. on Saturday, police dispatch received reports of gunshots at a location along Bay Road. Police and medical personnel were dispatched and officers discovered the body of a man.

The 40-year-old victim was taken to a medical facility for treatment and succumbed to his injuries. He was identified as Dieuseil Eugene. The investigation is ongoing.

In another incident, homicide detectives are investigating a murder in Five Cays, Providenciales.

According to initial reports, several calls were received at the police control center shortly after noon on Saturday, reporting that gunshots had been heard in the area of ​​the community center.

Officers arrived at the scene and found the lifeless body of a man with apparent gunshot wounds.

These two shootings occurred after Police Commissioner Edvin Martin reported a double murder that occurred in Rainbow Gardens, Blue Hills, Providenciales on Friday night.

Police Commissioner Martin said that after 11pm on June 21, police dispatch received disturbing reports of gunshots being heard in the area. Officers and medical personnel were immediately dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, they discovered the lifeless body of a male victim. Another man, who had also sustained gunshot wounds, was immediately taken to a medical facility.

Despite the best efforts of medical staff, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after 5 a.m. on Saturday.

The identities of the victims were not disclosed at the time.

The police strongly condemned the senseless acts of violence.

According to police, the circumstances and motives of these murders remain unclear.
