Ludhiana: DJ operator sexually abuses minor, flees after locking her in his room

A DJ has been booked for sexually assaulting a Class 8 student after taking her to his house in Gurpal Nagar in Daba. When the minor objected, the accused fled after locking her in a room.

The 6th Division Police has filed a First Instance Report (FIR) against the accused Akshay Kumar of Gurpal Nagar.

The complaint was filed following a statement by the minor’s mother. The plaintiff stated that her 13-year-old daughter had been playing with other children on the street and had disappeared. She returned home alone after some time, the complaint continued.

The woman said the accused showed up and brought her daughter home from the streets. She claimed the accused tried to take pictures of the minor, sexually abused her and fled after locking her in a room.

Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Harpal Singh, who is investigating the case, said an FIR has been registered under sections 354 (assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 354A (sexual harassment), 342 (wrongful deprivation of liberty) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
