Rideshare driver shot in Chicago, police say – NBC Chicago

A ride-share driver is in critical condition after being shot in Chicago’s Burnside neighborhood on Sunday morning, police said.

Authorities said officers were called to the 900 block of East 91st.st On Sunday, around 1:55 a.m., a report was filed on the street of a person who had been shot.

Officers found a 30-year-old man at the scene with a gunshot wound to the neck. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was in critical condition, according to Chicago police.

According to authorities, the man was working as a rideshare driver when a passenger shot him, hitting him in the neck.

The vehicle came to a stop after hitting an unoccupied car and the suspect fled the scene.

No suspect has been arrested and Chicago police are continuing their investigation.
