Man arrested in connection with break-in at Rocket City Toys

OWENS CROSS ROADS, Alabama (WHNT) – The Madison County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man they believe is responsible for a series of burglaries at small businesses in the Owens Cross Roads area over the past month.

According to MSCO, 65-year-old Michael Thomas was arrested and charged with two counts of burglary and probation violation.

MSCO said they conducted extensive surveillance of a suspect’s operations and vehicle for several days, which allowed them to identify Thomas. MCSO said detectives spotted Thomas’ vehicle at a Circle K in Hampton Cove, which led to his arrest.

According to MCSO, burglary tools were found on Thomas and additional criminal charges are expected to be filed against him.

Thomas is being held in the Madison County Jail on $20,500 bail.
