Three men injured in shooting in Minot, one arrested

BISMARCK, N.D. (KXNET) — A shooting on the morning of Sunday, June 23, left three men injured – one of whom is now facing charges for several serious crimes.

According to Minot police, officers received reports of multiple fights in the area of ​​10 1st Avenue Southeast around 3:10 a.m., as well as possible gunshots. Upon arrival at the scene, officers conducted a high-risk traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle attempting to leave the area. During the process, they took a suspect – a 23-year-old man from Fayetteville, North Carolina – into custody and seized a firearm from his car.


The first victim of the incident suffered minor injuries to his hand before being treated and released. The second victim (a 36-year-old man) suffered more serious injuries to his abdomen and required surgery as part of his treatment.

The suspect is charged with reckless endangerment and illegal possession of a weapon, both class C felonies. He is currently at Trinity Health for treatment of a gunshot wound to his foot sustained from return gunfire during the shooting incident. Once he is released from medical care, he will be transported to the Ward County Jail.
