Labour MP Stella Creasy’s office in Walthamstow was attacked by vandals

Labour politician Stella Creasy has vowed to stand firm after her Walthamstow office was ransacked in a brazen early morning attack.

The long-serving MP, who has represented the north-east London constituency since 2010, shared shocking images of smashed windows at her campaign headquarters on social media.

Scotland Yard confirmed they are investigating the incident, which occurred between 3:10am and 3:30am on Sunday. The attack came as Creasy prepares to defend her seat in the upcoming July 4 election.

Ms Creasy, who lives in the city with her family, tweeted: “My message to whoever attacked my office last night: you are not intimidating me and you have no place in the political process.”

“The police are already trying to find you. They will push for the harshest punishments for such an undemocratic attack.”

“I know that Walthamstow will not be intimidated or influenced by your violence.”

She added that “malicious and false” leaflets had been distributed about her.

Ms Creasy, a former shadow minister, won 76 percent of the vote in 2019.

Their office is located on Orford Road, part of the Walthamstow Village district.

Responding to a tweet saying her office looked “neglected” and “run down,” she said: “Every penny I make will go towards paying my staff properly so I have enough people to help Walthamstow.”

“If the office looks run down, it’s because the people inside are more important. That’s why this attack is so disturbing, because they work really hard to help local residents as well.”

Detective Superintendent Dion Brown said an “urgent investigation” was underway and a full analysis of CCTV footage had begun.

“It is completely unacceptable that the office of one of London’s potential parliamentary candidates is being targeted in this way.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 quoting reference number 2621/23jun.
