Man arrested after fatal biker accident

A man was arrested after a motorcyclist crashed into the median on a main road and died.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said the incident occurred on Albion Way in Salford shortly after 6pm (BST) on Saturday.

Police said the 60-year-old man was riding a green Kawasaki motorcycle near another motorcycle when he crashed.

Sergeant Matthew Waggett thanked passers-by who “stopped at the scene of the accident to assist and care for the victim.”

A 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of negligent homicide.

GMP has requested witness statements and footage of the incident.
