Chicago man who was sexually abused by a priest will receive compensation from the archdiocese

CHICAGOA Chicago man who was sexually abused by a regular pedophile priest has settled his claim with the Archdiocese of Chicago more than 40 years after the abuse.

The priest is Father Daniel Mark Holihan, who worked at Our Lady of Snows Parish in Chicago until 1990 and is accused of abusing dozens of parishioners.

According to one report, there were at least 40 reported survivors.

Lawrence Kubbins, now 60, says the abuse took place between 1979 and 1980.

He is represented by attorney Michael Garabedian, who helped him reach a settlement in the low six figures.

Father Holihan was removed from the Catholic Church years after allegations continued to be made against him. He was accused of fondling boys, including during overnight trips to his cabin.

He died in 2016.
