I’m sorry Leonard might be dead, but at least it allows for the return of Penny’s Big Bang Theory spinoff

Leonard is dead, and I am sad about it, but his passing paves the way for Penny’s return to The big Bang Theory Despite the decision to Young Sheldon At the height of its success, Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady’s universe is set to flourish with a new spinoff on the way. Born out of what I believe is, Young Sheldon‘s most unexpected original plot, Georgie & Mandy’s first marriage will span the couple’s arc as newlyweds and parents of baby Cece. What is often overlooked, however, is that there is a second The big Bang Theory Spin-off on the way.

Before I get to the actual topic of this article, I would like to formally apologize for bringing up the idea that Leonard might be dead. I wrote the first article quoting how the Young Sheldon Finale suggested that Leonard might be gone. It went viral and spawned several other pieces, but the idea came from my piece about Screen Rant. To be clear, I want Sheldon’s best friend to stay alive. But I couldn’t ignore the hints of his death. If it’s any consolation, I’m here to point out that some good may come out of Leonard’s death.

The big Bang Theory laid the groundwork for Leonard to potentially die young. I remember so many episodes and funny bits in the sitcom that revolved around his allergies and asthma attacks, among other things. As sad as it makes me to think of the Pasadena gang losing a member, this might be the easiest way to bring Penny back The big Bang Theory Universe. First of all, Lorre can recruit Cuoco, who is still very active in the business, to reprise her famous role for the upcoming spinoff without having to deal with questions about Leonard’s absence.

In view of Georgie & Mandy’s first marriagewhich is technically more of a sequel to Young Sheldon, I believe that the second The big Bang Theory spin-off will be something more directly connected to the nerd-centric sitcom. Before Sheldon took over The big Bang Theory and became the center of the series, with Penny and Leonard sharing the spotlight with him. With Parsons recently ending Sheldon’s 17-year stint on television and Galecki inactive, Penny’s appearance may be the only way to lean on the show’s original trio. Anything else might not be as exciting.
