Another hot and humid day with isolated thunderstorms

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Weather days of the first warning More extreme heat and humidity are expected today through Tuesday and again on Saturday. In addition to the heat, we could see some strong storms this afternoon and evening.

Today, temperatures will again be between 35 and 40 degrees, and heat indices will be in the triple digits. In some western districts, a heat warning is in effect from midday to 9 p.m. The “perceived temperatures” will be over 38 degrees at times this afternoon.

In addition to the heat, we could also see some isolated strong thunderstorms today, mixed with isolated rain showers. The biggest concern is damaging wind gusts and heavy downpours. The showers should clear out of the south around midnight.

Monday will be drier, but still very hot and humid. Temperatures will stay around 35 degrees, but will still feel like over 38 degrees.

Tuesday will be even hotter, with highs rising above 95 degrees, but heat indices will again be well above triple digits. A heat warning may be required for most of the central state by then.

On Wednesday we can finally get some relief from the heat as some much-needed rain moves in. The chance of rain increases to 60%, with widespread showers and a few thunderstorms. Humidity also drops a bit, so the perceived temperatures are very close to our actual highs of over 30 to under 35 degrees.

The end of the week looks dry and sunny. Heat and humidity will remain low on Thursday before warming up again towards the end of the week.

By the weekend, temperatures will be above 35 degrees again and humidity will be more extreme, which will lead to another First weather warning day for Saturday.
