Davenport Police swear in eight new officers at the Davenport City Council meeting

DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) – The Davenport Police Department will be adding several new officers to the force.

Davenport Police Chief Jeff Bladel addressed the Davenport City Council to introduce eight new officers, all of whom were sworn in at Wednesday night’s City Council meeting.

Seven of the officers were recent graduates of the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA), and one was a previously sworn officer with the Iowa City Police Department, according to Chief Bladel.

“We believe in engaging and engaging with our community to work together and address the most pressing challenges we face,” said Chief Bladel. “These new officers join a force that values ​​not only tradition and excellence, but also progress and adaptability. So as we continue to grow as a police department, we continue to advance through the ranks and continue to connect with our community.”
