FORECAST DISCUSSION:

We are keeping an eye on a cold front approaching the region. Keep an eye on the weather this afternoon. There is a slight risk for severe weather in parts of central Ohio. Strong winds and large hail are the biggest risks. An isolated tornado cannot be completely ruled out.

When it doesn’t rain, the sky will remain mostly cloudy. Temperatures will also be appropriate for the time of year, reaching maximums of just 27 to 30 degrees. The wind will be gusty at times, especially when the cold front passes over us.

After the front has passed, the clouds will clear and temperatures will drop to 15 to 20 degrees. These are the coolest conditions since the heat wave began. The dew points are also lower than they have been for about a week. The humidity is much more pleasant.

The seasonal temperature trend continues on Monday with mostly sunny skies and drier weather. There will be a slight increase in temperatures mid-week. After another round of showers and storms, more seasonal conditions return on Wednesday to end the work week.
