Satsuma police urge residents not to donate to a group claiming to represent the police

SATSUMA, Alabama (WKRG) – Satsuma Police are asking residents of the small Mobile County town not to donate to an organization claiming to represent law enforcement.

A Facebook post on Saturday said a number of residents received an email from the National Police Association. They say the group is not affiliated with the police or the city. The post said: “The letter appears to use fear-mongering and controversial political topics to get people to donate. In this letter they use the theme of quality of life issues and cities allowing neighborhoods to deteriorate, which in turn can bring crime to the area.”

The post states that the author obviously knows nothing about Satsuma and urges people to do their research before donating to a charity that asks for money.
