Severe weather warning day – isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon

Steamy and stormy to end the weekend.

AND OF COURSE WE’VE BEEN FEELIN’ THIS HEAT FOR SOME WHILE. I NEED A BREAK. I DON’T KNOW, YOU KNOW, I THINK WE’RE SO DONE WITH THIS EARLY DOSE OF HIGH HEAT AND HUMIDITY, MAYBE JUST A LITTLE TOO EARLY FOR EVERYONE. AND THERE’S GOING TO BE SOME CHANGES. STARTING TODAY. BUT OF COURSE THIS TRANSITION MAY BE A LITTLE UNSTEADY ACROSS THE REGION. WHEN I WAKE UP THIS MORNING, IT’S ALREADY WARM. IT’S JUST 27 DEGREES RIGHT NOW IN PITTSBURGH, IT’S 25 DEGREES IN GREENSBURG. AS YOU WAKE UP, IT’S ALSO OVER 25 DEGREES IN WASHINGTON, BUTLER, MORGANTOWN, AND 25 DEGREES IN NEW CASTLE. Right now it’s cool places, if you will, about 21 degrees in Waynesburg and Monroeville. Today it’s going to get hotter again. Not quite the 30s we’ve had for the last few days. Instead we’ll see temperatures in the 25s. Eventually, afternoon showers and thunderstorms will give some of us a little break from the heat. At least it’ll bring the weekend to a close for us. Clouds rolled in during the night. You can see some of them were looking over downtown Pittsburgh this morning. Calm. Just very humid. SO THE PRESENTATION FOR THE MORNING IS: A WARM FRONT PASSED THROUGH YESTERDAY. IT’S BRINGING A LITTLE EXTRA DOSE OF HUMIDITY INTO THE AIR, ALONG WITH THE HIGH TEMPERATURES OF THE LOW TO MID 95°F, AS A COLD FRONT JUST PASSED THROUGH CHICAGO, IS PASSING THROUGH INDY AND ALSO DETROIT, BRINGING SOME STRONG, HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS FOR US IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE DAY. THE MAIN CONCERN WITH THIS REALLY HUMID AIR MASS WOULD BE SOME JUICY RAIN STORMS THAT COULD CAUSE LOCAL FLOODING. AND SOME STRONG WINDS AS WELL. THOSE TWO HAZARDS HAVE BEEN THE CASE EVERY TIME WE’VE EXPERIENCED STORMS DURING THIS VERY HOT PERIOD. HAIL AND TORNADOES. LOW RISK FOR US, BUT NOT ZERO. AS WE WORK OUR WAY THROUGH THE AFTERNOON. NOW THERE IS A LITTLE WRINKLE THAT COULD COME INTO PLAY WITH SEVERE STORMS AS WE WORK OUR WAY INTO THE AFTERNOON. LOOKS LIKE THERE WILL BE A LINE OF SHOWERS AHEAD OF THE FRONT, MAYBE AN ISOLATED THUNDERSTORM COMING IN AROUND NOON, LIMITING THE POTENTIAL FOR SEVERE STORMS INTO THE AFTERNOON AS THE COLD FRONT APPROACHES. BUT THE FUTURE STILL FORECASTS SOME SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS AROUND I-80 AS EARLY AS 4:00 PM. THIS WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE SOUTH THROUGH ALLEGHENY COUNTY, FINALLY THROUGH THE LAUREL HIGHLANDS, DOWN NEAR THE WEST VIRGINIA BORDER. AS WE APPROACH SUNSET THE THREAT OF SEVERE DANGER WILL DECLINE. AND TOMORROW IT WILL BE DRY AGAIN. MORE SUNSHINE AND ALSO A BREAK FROM THE HIGH HUMIDITY. TODAY. SEVERE WEATHER WARNING DAY FOR Isolate Storms. SOME MAY BE STRONG TO SEVERE BY AFTERNOON. STILL VERY HUMID. A LITTLE WIND TOO. 87 OUR HIGH TEMPERATURE CROPS WILL BE CURSED AS THE NIGHT GOES ON. A LITTLE CLEARANCE. ALSO SOME WIDESPREAD AREAS OF FOG THROUGHOUT THE DAY TOMORROW. YOU WILL NOTICE A CHANGE IN THE AIR AS THE HUMIDITY DROPS. TEMPERATURES ARE MORE DEPENDENT ON THE SEASON. WE ARE AT THE LESS THAN 27 CAN BUT THIS BREAK WON’T LAST LONG. ON TUESDAY IT WILL BACK TO 32 CAN, WEDNESDAY A BLOWING DAY WITH MORE SPOKEN THUNDERSTORMS. THAT’S ANOTHER FRONT COMING TOWARDS US. AND FOR SUMMER LOVERS THE END OF THE WEEK LOOKS PRETTY PLEASANT. WE’LL HAVE HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE 80S, SOMETHING LIKE 80 DEGREES ON THURSDAY TO ABOUT 90 DEGREES AGAIN NEXT SATURDAY, BUT STILL MANAGEABLE HUMIDITY, DRY PERIOD, SOME GOOD COOL DAYS AHEAD. ONCE WE GET OVER THE HIGHS OF THE COMING WEEK. PERFECT. I’LL ACCEPT IT. I DON’T KNOW ABOUT YOU, BUT I’M READY FOR BREAKFAST TOMORROW

Severe weather warning day – isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon

Steamy and stormy to end the weekend.

The focus of today’s Severe Weather Warning Day is severe weather. We’ve been letting off a lot of steam over the last few days. Later today, it will collide with a cold front. Our window for storms opens after noon, and there’s a chance two waves will cross the area. The early afternoon round could limit severe weather potential through tonight. Still, each storm will bring heavy downpours, as well as damaging winds and some hail. The risk of tornadoes is low, but not zero. The storms will fizzle out as the sun goes down.Behind the front – relief at last! Humidity drops throughout Monday, with more seasonal highs around 27 degrees. The heat and “sultriness” don’t stay away for long. Tuesday and Wednesday, we’ll be back to near 32 degrees. Our next front arrives on Wednesday. It’s an impact day for isolated storms. The end of the week will be quite pleasant for summer lovers.TODAY – Severe Weather Warning Day: Isolated strong/severe storms, especially this afternoon. Still humid, high 30°C. TONIGHT: Thunderstorms easing, fog clearing in places. Low 18°C. TOMORROW: Seasonal and less humid, with more sunshine later. High 27°C, low 15°C.
