Man arrested after one person injured in early morning shooting | News

Update, 9.30pm:

At around 2:40 p.m., officers from the Regional Gang Unit arrested a man in connection with the shooting.

Richard Blackmon, 31, was arrested and faces the following charges:

Assault with a deadly weapon, former felon in possession of a firearm, concealed carry of a firearm, disobeying a peace officer and endangering the public, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sale and trafficking in a controlled substance (cocaine).

The investigations are still ongoing.

Original story, June 22, 11:19 a.m.:

According to the Reno Police Department, officers responded to reports of a shooting at East 2nd Street and Arlington Avenue around 5:30 a.m. Saturday morning.

When police arrived at the scene, they found neither suspects nor victims.

After investigating, they learned that a victim was being treated at a nearby hospital for two non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

The RPD says the shooting is still under investigation and there is no threat to the public.
