High Country Crime Stoppers and the Boone Police Department are asking for the public’s help in solving the following crime:

On Friday, June 21, 2024, at around 10:30 a.m., an unknown vehicle collided with the rear of a parked Audi SQ5 in the Ingles parking lot. The force of this impact caused the Audi to roll through the parking lot and collide with the rear of a parked Jeep Cherokee. The parked vehicles were unoccupied at the time of the incident. The unknown vehicle left the scene of the accident without being identified.

Anyone with information regarding this or any other crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 828-268-6959 or Boone Police at 828-268-6900 or text “NCTIP plus your tip” to 274637 (CRIMES). All information will be kept confidential.

High Country Crime Stoppers pays rewards for information leading to arrests, recovery of stolen property, seizure of drugs and the location of wanted persons.

High Country Crime Stoppers is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization operated by a volunteer community board serving Avery and Watauga counties. High Country Crime Stoppers encourages reporting of information or tips that may help law enforcement solve crimes. Their goal is to help fight crime, but they are not part of local police departments or sheriff’s offices. Each county has a law enforcement coordinator who serves as an advisor to the board but is not a voting member. The citizen board is responsible for operating the program, raising funds, community outreach and approving rewards.
