Suspects arrested for the Hydra forest fire must appear before the public prosecutor

The ship, named Persefoni I, left Hydra and docked at the marina of Agios Kosmas in Athens at 4:35 p.m. on Saturday. The 13 people were arrested shortly afterwards.

According to the fire service, which had received reports that the fire was caused by fireworks fired from a boat, it requested the coast guard for the coordinates and details of all vessels that were near Hydra on Friday evening, as well as any video footage.

It is reported that there is a statement from the captain of a nearby ship who observed the incident.

On Friday, the fire risk in Hydra was classified as high and any use of fire was banned in the area.

The fire was finally brought under control on Saturday afternoon.
