Prajwal Revanna’s brother Suraj arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a party worker | Bangalore News

The Holenarasipura Rural Police Saturday registered the case of sexual assault under Indian Penal Code sections 377 (sexual intercourse against the order of nature), 342 (wrongful confinement), 506 (intentionally insulting to provoke disturbance of public peace) and 34 (common intention). Police have named both Suraj Revanna and Shivakumar as accused in the case.

According to the FIR seen by The Indian Express, the victim allegedly visited Suraj Revanna at a farm in Holenarasipura taluk in Hassan district on June 16 at around 6.15 pm.

The complainant alleged that the MLC stripped and sexually abused him and threatened to kill his family. The complainant also alleged that Suraj Revanna promised him a job and political advancement. “I informed Shivakumar about the incident and said I will fight for justice. Later, Shivakumar offered me Rs 20 crore to keep the information from being disclosed. However, fearing being killed, I came to Bengaluru on Wednesday. I am ready to provide evidence to support these allegations,” he said in his complaint.

Suraj and Prajwal are the sons of JD(S) MP HD Revanna and Bhavani Revanna, who herself is accused of abducting one of Prajwal’s alleged victims of sexual assault. Her grandfather is former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda and her uncle is Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy. Prajwal Revanna, a former JD(S) MP from Hassan, has been arrested in three cases of sexual assault.
