Cyclist killed in crash that caused Venetian Causeway to be closed in Miami Beach – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports

MIAMI BEACH, FLA. (WSVN) – A bicyclist was struck and killed in a crash that closed the Venetian Causeway in Miami Beach, police said.

Miami Beach Police and Fire Department units arrived at the scene of the accident near West Rivo Alto Drive on Saturday evening.

Paramedics confirmed the victim’s death at the scene of the accident.

7News cameras captured a police officer rolling an electric bike away from the scene of the accident and showed forensic investigators photographing the vehicle involved in the accident.

Officials have closed the causeway at West Rivo Alto Drive in both directions. They are asking drivers to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
