Meet the hotheaded Gen-Z cop who arrested Justin Timberlake for drunk driving

Pop singer Justin Timberlake was recently arrested for alleged drunk driving in the Hamptons. The American singer-songwriter was stopped by a young Sag Harbor police officer who has a reputation as a tough cop in the city. Timberlake was stopped by young police officer Michael Arkinson, whose name was also on the singer’s indictment. Michael arrested the SexyBack singer after he ignored a stop signal and then veered into the wrong lane.

Meet rookie cop Michael Arkinson

Michael Arkinson is the young cop who arrested Timberlake in his most recent drunken driving arrest within three months of being on the job, but he has already earned a reputation as a tough cop in the area. As the New York Post reports, Hamptons residents have dubbed the cop “the Sag Harbor Nazi” and “little red-headed douchebag” for his strict enforcement of law and order.

Michael graduated from the police academy two years ago in 2022 and is now being promoted to a full-time officer in Sag Harbor. The 24-year-old cop also worked as a part-time traffic cop in 2017, while still in high school. He lives in South Hamptons, a 25-minute drive from Sag Harbor.

The Gen-Z cop didn’t recognize the former NSYNC member’s fame and reputation and had no idea about it when he pulled him over for violating traffic laws. He wasn’t even born when Timberlake joined his former band NSYNC.

Further reports of clashes with the young police officer

As Daily Mail reported, a local resident recalled his altercation with the officer when he was talking on the phone on the speakerphone while driving. The Sag Harbor Nazi fined him $145 for talking on the phone while driving. When the resident protested that he had the speakerphone on, the young officer instructed him to use Bluetooth in accordance with traffic laws.

“I believe Justin Timberlake was a victim of the over-aggressive Sag Harbor police,” the resident added, commenting on Timberlake’s recent arrest by Michael.
