Man who threatened to hurt people on social media was arrested and charged, police said

MEMPHIS, Tennessee (WMC) – Memphis police have arrested and charged a man who allegedly made public threats on social media.

On June 22nd at around 7:00 a.m., officials were notified of a potential online threat on social media.

MPD and the Homeland Security Office investigated the threat.

During the investigation, 24-year-old Derrick White was identified as responsible for the threat.

Officers later learned that there was an arrest warrant out for White for aggravated assault.

White was taken into custody and is now also accused of committing a terrorist attack.
